Silter started its trading life as a manufacturer on machinery industry in 1983. In the result of rapid developments in textle and clothing industry in 1986, company decided to relocate its main activity field on this industry. In the beginning of 1987 company offered the first industrial type steam iron to market under the trade mark of Silter. Being the first steam iron, ST/B 200 has been still within the top list of the most selling iron types in Turkey and in all the world. Company’s market share reached %50 in industrial iron market in the late of 1991 and the quantity of imported irons from abroad decreased in the same period. In the beginning of 1992 company decided to start manufacturing of boiler type steam iron with 1 liter water capacity and in the late of the same year the product, named Super Mini 2000 was exhibited to market. In the same year, Silter started to manufacture foldable type ironing boards in accordance with market needs. In the middle of 1994 Silter in the result of increasing demands on boiler type steam iron, company exhibited the new version of this product with 2 liters capacity under the name of Super Mini 2002. Company reached %70 market share on boiler type steam irons in the market. Since the beginning of 1995 Silter overtook distributorship of OLAB solenoid valves and COBRA bimetal thermostats in Turkey. Silter manufactured aluminium framed teflon base plate for the first time in Turkey. Other intermediate products, condense group, pressure switch, microswitch, silicone hose which is being first manufactured intermediate product of the company, provide company to meet domestic and foreign requirements with wide range of products. Market share of the Silter reached approximately %65 in steam iron market of Turkish clothing industry and company’s market share reached %80 in the market of mini steam iron with boilers. In the middle of 1998 company decided to be made new designs of steam irons with boilers for domestic usage. Making modifications on existing models by taking care of domestic requirements and offering this new product under the trade mark of Gazzella to the market are planned by company. Silter established SilPa A. S. for the purpose of marketing its products. Domestic type Gazzella Super Mini are exhibited to the market in the middle of 1999. Product got a significant attention in domestic and foreign markets and company started to advertisement works of Gazzella Super Mini Series in domestic and foreign markets. CE certificate was taken for Gazzella Super Mini Series by company. In 2000 Silter exhibited its products under the trade mark of Goldental by turning its products into steam cleaning robot. The year of 2000 has been the year when Silter started to reach export targets. Today Silter exports to 79 countries. Silter exhibited Mini Steam Iron With 3,5 liters water capacity boiler to the market under the name of Silter Super Mini 2035. In the beginning of 2001 all management and manufacturing team in Gungoren and Merter was gathered together in its factory which is located on 5000 m2 in the district of Buyukcekmece. In 2003 company exhibited steam iron with 5 liter water capcity boiler sunder the name of Silter Super Mini 2005 to the market. Company exhibited steam ironing robot with brush under the name of Firmini with 1, 2 and 3,5 water capacity options to the market. In 2004 foldable ironing boards which have been integrated ironing board with mini steam boiler and have licensed folding mechanism, were exhibited to the market under the trade mark of Harmony. In the same year Silter also manufactured domestic type steam iron. By the reason of increasing demands from foreign markets, Silter manufactured full automatic steam boiler for selling just on this markets. Being one level beyond of Super Mini Series, Super Midi Series have taken its place in the market.
